Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher’s Secret Star Wars Tryst

We all know Han Solo and Princess Leia had great chemistry on-screen—but who knew the two Star Wars characters were just as hot off-screen? While she didn’t elaborate on all the details, actress Carrie Fisher recently admitted to having a romantic encounter of some sort with former co-star Harrison Ford.
During a British TV interview, Fisher said she went into the original installment with a plan in mind. “I went on the film saying ‘I’m going to have an affair’, like it was a kiwi, an exotic fruit — because I’d never had one!”

The Latest Incredible Hulk Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Universal, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Science Fiction, Trailers, Upcoming Releases,
While I think this trailer for The Incredible Hulk is definitely an improvement over the earlier version, I still don’t think there’s anything they could do to make that green guy look less cheesy.
And am I the only one who thinks they they should have kept that other ugly thing under wraps?
Edward Norton‘s version of The Incredible Hulk storms into theaters on June 13.
Movie-Theater Etiquette: Should You Clean Up After Yourself?
Posted by Johnny Mercedes Categories: New Releases,
I see a lot of movies, and, if I can afford it, I’ll occasionally stop at the concessions counter for my $4 soda and $6 popped corn kernels.
In an aside, I should mention that if the current shortage of edible corn becomes reason for theaters to raise prices, I’ll spit in someone’s eye!
My inclination over the years has been to take my drink and snack into the theater, watch, eat, drink and pick up my garbage on my way out. It’s easy enough to pick up after myself, and, well, it’s my mess, right? And I used to heavily deride those that left their garbage everywhere.
However, in talking with others lately, including a former theater usher who sided with the messy people, I’ve come to understand that this practice isn’t only for—pardon my candor—jerks. Many of these garbage-scattering moviegoers have considered the morality of such an act and decided they are under no obligation to dispose of said waste. Surprisingly, their reasoning seems sound.

Back in February, we told you about a planned remake of the ‘70s series, Land of the Lost. The comedy, starring Will Ferrell, would give a modern update to the mysterious land filled with dinosaurs and things called Pakuni.
While the recreation will not have any kids (they’ve been replaced by two adult companions), other elements of the original show will remain as true as possible. In the picture above, you can see director Brad Silberling’s (Lemony Snicket) version of the classic Sleestaks. The lizard creatures - which won’t be products of CGI - will come with slightly enhanced features. Instead of being armed with crossbows, the green guys will be able to draw quills from their spines.
Production on the Universal project is currently underway.

Although 30 Rock still struggles to compete on Thursdays, Tina Fey’s Baby Mama had no problem topping the competition. The film, co-starring Amy Poehler, earned $17.4 million and made a showing for women everywhere. When’s the last time a movie with two female leads debuted at #1?
Interestingly enough, Mama‘s screen average ($6845) was outdone by another female-centric movie: The She Found Me. The movie that was directed and written by star Helen Hunt earned $8066 per screen this weekend. Fairly impressive considering Found, also featuring Bette Midler, opened in 44th place.
Friday’s other big entry - Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay - came in second place with a $14.9 million take. Surprisingly, that gross nearly equals what the original film raked in during it’s total run.

Sarah Marshall Cast and Crew Divulge Upcoming Projects
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Universal, Comedy, Casting, Upcoming Releases,
Good news for fans of Forgetting Sarah Marshall this week! Although comedic genius Judd Apatow’s latest film, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, failed to perform at the box office last weekend, cast and crew members have already decided that they want to work together again!
Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nick Stoller is joining Judd Apatow for another comedy starring Jonah Hill (Superbad, Knocked Up) and Russell Brand (Penelope, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), titled Get Him to the Greek. The film follows Hill’s character, who is hired to follow an “out-of-control” British rock star (Brand), his ultimate goal being to get him to play at L.A.‘s Greek Theatre.

Three-Stop Premiere for SATC Movie
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Paramount, Comedy, Rumors, Upcoming Releases,
The much-anticipated Sex and the City movie will make its first premiere on May 12 in London’s Leichester Square. May 15 will see the flick in Berlin for another premiere. Then, after all the Sexy secrets are spilled, it will finally make its way home to New York for a premiere party on known territory (May 27).
Sex movie talk centers around the mysterious death, a plot point “leaked” by Cynthia Nixon in a recent interview. Other possible plot points have been bantered around by entertainment shows. I’ve seen the clips, and Cynthia Nixon looks great in the movie. But who’s destined to leave the franchise for ever? Let’s look at the possible candidates.

Wesley Snipes Gets Three Years in Jail
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Controversy,
If there’s anying we’ve learned from Survivor’s Richard Hatch, its that government hates tax evaders. After failing to pay what he owned, the reality show contestant was sent to the pokey for a nice long stay. (Hatch is not expected to complete his 4+ year sentence until October 2009.)
Unfortunately, Wesley Snipes was either not a fan of the CBS show or he just didn’t heed the warnings. Today, the Blade actor was sentenced to 3 years in prison for failure to file tax returns. Back in February, Snipes was found not guilty of other tax fraud and conspiracy charges.
Despite personal letters from fellow actors (Denzel Washington, Woody Harrelson) asking for possible probation, Snipes was given the maximum sentence by a U.S. District Court Judge in Florida. Snipes also paid $5 million of the reported $41 million he owes at the hearing today.

Will Smith’s Nepotism Streak Continues
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Columbia Pictures, Drama, Casting, Upcoming Releases,
First, he introduced son Jaden to theatergoers in The Pursuit of Happyness. Then he let daughter Willow take on a much smaller role in last year’s I Am Legend. Now another kid will be participating in a Will Smith movie: Connor Cruise.
Yes, I know. Connor is not exactly related to Will. (He’s actually Tom Cruise‘s adopted son.) But that doesn’t make the whole situation smell any less nepotistic to me.
In Seven Pounds, Will Smith stars as a man who affects the lives of seven strangers. Connor, in a minor part, will play a younger version of the main character.
